Event details

NTU Enterprise welcomes student entrepreneurs to join us for an event with Alison Grade to provide a preview of what guests can expect from our upcoming series 'How to be a great freelancer'.  During this event, Megan Powell Vreeswijk and Alison Grade will provide an introduction to our exciting new course and answer questions from our team and guests about what to expect from the series.

About the course

NTU Enterprise is working with Alison Grade to deliver a series of workshops for both NTU students and entrepreneurs on how to be a great freelancer.

Being a great freelancer is more than being great at working ‘in’ the work you want to do – you need to be great at working ‘on’ your freelancing. In this series of workshops you’ll learn from author of The Freelance Bible, Alison Grade, how to work ‘on’ your freelancing. and prepare yourself so you are best positioned to find the work you want to do.

This workshop series is essential for any student looking to work in the creative industries sector on graduation. A recent Creative Industries Federation report on freelancing showed that 47% of work in the creative industries is freelance. It’s highly likely that graduates will need to be ready to work as freelancers if not by design then by necessity.

This workshop series will give students the knowledge and confidence to be great freelancers as well as a framework which they can use to work ‘on’ their freelancing and build successful and sustainable freelance careers.
