Event details

NTU Faith will be hosting this event as an opportunity to explore and share the meaning and relevance of Holy Week and the Easter Christian observance as it relates to today's experience of suffering and hope.

We will discuss, reflect and understand the Christian festival of Holy Week and Easter and its relevance for today. During a time of a global pandemic which has seen worldwide upheaval, have you struggled this past year with uncertainty, depression, loneliness, or lack of direction? What does that hope that Easter speaks of look like today? We will be hearing insightful reflections from NTU Coordinating Chaplain, Reverend Dr Richard Davey, Methodist Chaplain, Jo Peek, and also NTU Faith Ambassadors sharing their experience of what Holy Week and Easter means to them.

The event is being organised by Multi-Faith Manger, Clive Foster and NTU’s Multi-Faith Coordinator, Robina Din.

Speakers:

Reverend Dr Richard Davey, Coordinating Chaplain at NTU

Richard was ordained in 1993, having trained at Lincoln Theological College. Following a curacy in Poole, and a period as Chaplain and Minor Canon of St Edmundsbury Cathedral, he became Canon Pastor of Southwell Minster. Alongside his chaplaincy work, he has been an Associate Priest, firstly in the Clifton Team Ministry, and then in the City Centre Parish.

Jo Peek, Methodist Chaplain at NTU

Jo is a lay Methodist Chaplain and is in her second year working for Lenton Methodist Church. She works at both NTU and University of Nottingham Chaplaincy's. Before this she worked as a nurse, but her first (and probably favourite) job was as a theatre usher. In her spare time, she is a compulsive knitter, voracious reader, and is also trying to cultivate her green thumb in the garden.
