Learning from the Past Towards a Sustainable Future
A presentation by Professor Amin Al-Habaibeh, Product Innovation Centre, School of Architecture, Design and the Built Environment
Prior to the adoption of the current modern life style of living and the use of heating and air conditioning technologies, most people lived in a more harmonious way with their local environment. Can we still learn from our global heritage and our ancestors to inform our way forward towards a better sustainability?
The presentation will outline case studies from around the world to showcase how we could use traditional product design, architecture, urban planning and style of living to reduce our energy consumption and carbon emission.
