Event details
We have brought together speakers who offer new perspectives on familiar (punishment, clothing) and unfamiliar (gossip, eavesdropping) aspects of workhouse life. Fusing great stories, new sources and challenges to existing perceptions, our contributors collectively seek to bring the workhouse and its residents to vivid life.
Papers will begin at 1700 on each day and last for 30-40 minutes. There will be an extended opportunity for audience questions.
