Event details

In this taster day you'll experience what it's like to study sport at University.

In the physiology lab you'll measure the maximum force producing capacity of the quadriceps muscles (thigh) and explore the different factors that contribute to force production and fatigue.

You'll also use the latest cutting edge equipment to measure the energy expenditure during light exercise and calculate the amount of food that can be consumed to match the expenditure.

Finally you'll track human movement using 3D motion capture, which uses reflective markers to recreate human avatars (as a skeleton) on computer software!

Academics will be on hand to answer your questions about what careers a degree in Sport can bring and current students will answer any questions you have on University life.

You must be 16 or over to attend this event and be studying Physical Education/Sports or/and a Science A Level or Btech.
