We are excited to announce an in-person Strategic Research Themes Conference 'Grand Challenges Requiring Cross Theme Solutions' taking place on Tuesday 1st and Wednesday 2nd March 2022.

The programme for the conference will focus on connecting and reconnecting our researchers and so there will be multiple opportunities for both formal and informal discussions and networking throughout the two days.

During the conference you can expect to find out more about research at NTU, the purpose and progress of the Strategic Research Themes and details of the 2022-2023 Central funding call. There will also be a series of workshops which will focus on how NTU can respond to key societal challenges through multidisciplinary working.

We will also recognise recent research success in an evening celebration event.

Day One - Tuesday 1st March 2022

10:00-10:30 Welcome to the Strategic Research Themes Conference!

Join us for an opening address and introduction to the Strategic Research Themes from Professor Di Bailey, Interim Pro Vice Chancellor for Research and Innovation.

10:30-11:30 How the Themes Have Supported Me

Learn how funding from the Strategic Research Themes has enabled the scaling up of research projects in this plenary session designed to encourage and inspire

11:30-12:45 Strategic Research Themes Discovery Session

Get to know the Strategic Research Theme Leads, learn more about the themes and connect with other researchers in this informal networking session.

12:45-14:00 Lunch Break

Join us for lunch, where you will have the chance to network with fellow researchers and research support staff and view our poster display.

14:00-15:30 Launch of the Strategic Research Themes Funding Call and Breakouts

Hear about the 2022-23 funding call and then move into breakouts to consider ideas for funding applications.
