Event details

This event aims to celebrate BME people who excel in the sectors associated with Architecture, Design and the Built Environment (ADBE). It is aimed at attracting current students, professionals and staff who wish to hear from others and share their thoughts on the BME position in the industry. We’d like to explore ways in which the BME experience can be improved and/or advanced to address the issues of the apparent BME attainment gap at University level in the UK.

Our guest speakers, Amos Simbo and Nelly Twumasi-Mensah, will share their experience and journey to the positions they hold now.

Time for networking with other attendees is built into the event, along with the chance for all to share their insight and experience as BME staff/student/professional in this sector. Views will be noted and feed into the emerging Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) strategy for ADBE. The event has been organised by the ADBE EDI committee and part of the University’s wider commitment to Race Equality Strategy.
