Experience Courtney Marke live at Metronome, one of Nottingham’s hidden RnB gems. Blending elements of Soul, RnB and new school Hip-Hop, Courtney wrote and self-produced demos for her debut EP ‘Seasons’ over lockdown.
Inspired by the likes of Beyonce, Jazmine Sullivan, Brandy and H.E.R, Courtney has spent the last six months working with local artists and producers to rework the demos and bring her vision to life.
‘Seasons’ is the follow up to Courtney’s latest single ‘Lowkey’ which features on the EP. With silky RnB vocals, soulful harmonies and riffs for days this performance is not one to be missed.

The nearest tram stop is at the Lace Market, a 5 – 10 minute walk from the venue. Nottingham has Park & Ride car parks situated just outside the city, with a regular tram service running throughout the week. Go to thetram.net to plan your journey.
For buses take your pick! Visit the Nottingham City Transport website to plan your route. Numerous services stop just outside the venue.
Nottingham Station is the nearest train station and a short taxi ride, or 20 – 25 minute walk, from Metronome. You’ll find plenty of taxis outside the station, or use your Uber app.

Reserve your placeThe new album ‘Ourselves, as we are’ from Carlos Cipa sees nine short piano pieces, created in ultimately just a few weeks, as a "conscious introspection", a kind of zooming in on the object of contemplation. Cipa took one other decisive conceptual approach: to play as quietly as possible. The fascinating result is nothing less than the discovery of a new piano sound world, which according to Cipa, allows “an even deeper empathy with the instrument”. As Cipa points out, “Today, it can be more radical to make a quiet piano album than a totally complex and intricate piece of music.” Undoubtedly, the multifaceted sound palette and disarmingly raw and fragile emotional elements make the music of ‘Ourselves’. In the age of fake authenticity, remakes, and pieces commissioned for high-reach mood playlists, this approach is perhaps one of the few remaining ways to create art: to reveal our true selves. Radically personal. Radically intimate. Radically honest.
