This year has started with Barclays looking to build on the benefits of working with Nottingham Business School (NBS) and the BA(Hons) Business Management (in-Company) (BABM) degree. The quality of students on BABM has been long recognised by Barclays and has been reflected in a significant increasing in the number of NBS students the company are looking to recruit and develop through BABM and their award winning Barclays Degree Programme (BDP) this year.

This decision recognises the value of students learning in the workplace during Years Two and Three of BABM, and others in the NBS portfolio. It also reflects linked success(es) of BABM students in terms of their retention and progression - Barclays have near 100% retention and students are progressing to Assistant Branch Manager or Branch Manager, or similar grade, by the end of that programme. This year, four BABM students have gone on to secure places on Barclays Future Leaders Programme (FLDP) and, in doing so, are the first BABM students to progress to this programme and amongst the first ever BDP students to achieve this fantastic outcome.

As Shaun Meekins from Barclays said about BABM and working in partnership with NBS in a recent Association of Graduate Recruiters article: "The measurement of success reaches beyond the degree itself and focuses on how we nurture and retain talent long-term." It certainly appears that BABM students, and NBS, measure up and deliver.
