Final-year Design for Film and Television student Jake Moxon won the Best Production Design award at Prime Cuts 2013, the premier graduate festival for motion arts students.

This year's festival took place in partnership with New Designers, one of the largest graduate exhibitions in the UK, at the Business Design Centre in London. Exhibited as part of Prime Cuts were over 100 costume designs, production designs, animations, films and videos from final-year students nationwide.

Jake, who has now graduated, said: "I was honoured to receive recognition from industry professionals for what I had done at university. I was also very pleased to win £500 which was kindly donated by Farley prop hire.

Prime Cuts gives students the chance to show their work to industry professionals, giving them a chance of employment straight after graduating.

Prime Cuts is a great opportunity as it gives students the chance to show their work to industry professionals, giving them a chance of employment straight after graduating. The £500 I won has giving me the financial cushion that I needed to be able to look for jobs without having to worry about money too much."

We asked Jake what he had most enjoyed about his course, and he told us: "I really enjoyed the fact that I was able to study in an environment in which students were encouraged to communicate with each other. This helped massively with the work and also made it easier to make some great friends.

"I would recommend my course as a large number of Design for Film and Television alumni have gone on to work successfully in the industry and it's also great fun!".
