Nottingham Business School and IoD announce new short courses to accelerate business growth

NBS will be offering courses on behalf of the IoD that are built around the real skills that modern business leaders need if they are to build their organisations.

At Nottingham Business School (NBS) when we describe ourselves as the Business School for Business, it is something we take very seriously. The latest step is our association with the IoD, working with the Institute to support the business world to address the challenges it deals with on a daily basis. We will be offering courses on behalf of the IoD that are built around the real skills that modern business leaders need if they are to build their organisations.

NBS's new short course for directors and business owners of SMEs 'Directing a Successful Small Business' covers all they need to know about delivering results and improving their effectiveness as a director. This course ensures that directors and business owners understand strategic thinking and are able to put together a precise and effective business plan.

NBS is at the forefront of Higher Education Institutions, helping companies prepare for the economic recovery. With its regional office based within the prestigious Newton / Arkwright building, the home of Nottingham Business School, the IoD is delighted to be working with the Dean and senior staff of the School to deliver the first programme of its kind offered through the regions. Ron Lynch, Regional Director for the East Midlands said: 'IoD is a leading provider of high quality training for business leaders designed from the director's viewpoint. We're pleased to be working with Nottingham Business School who will deliver this prestigious programme. In addition we're able to provide an ideal forum for meeting other directors and expanding your personal network."

Nottingham Business School is focussed upon delivering programmes which are closely aligned to business needs, stimulating business and economic growth through partnerships with industry stakeholders. The strength of the relationships the Business School holds with organisations enables the creation of leaders who are fully equipped to take their businesses forward.

Alison Smith, Head of Executive Education and Corporate Relations at NBS, said: 'Our continued working relationship with the IoD through the delivery of programmes such as 'Directing a Successful Small Business', illustrates our drive to support Lord Young's growth agenda through ensuring the skills match those that organisations need and to forge stronger links with SMEs.'
