Did you know that on average we consume 6,000 calories on Christmas day? That is also the same amount that a professional athlete consumes to push them through a day's training, Royal Marines need to fuel their missions and Arctic explorers requires to undertake a day on the ice.

For those of us less inclined to extreme endurance and more comfortable with staying indoors, there is little chance we burnt 6,000 calories on Christmas day. So what now?

Nu2sport is a fantastic way to get involved in sports you may not have tried before, a great way to socialise, it's great exercise and most importantly lots of fun!

Well let's start the year by getting on track using the nu2sport sessions to help you and burn off your Christmas Dinner… ready?

  • Let's start with the main… Burn off the 3 slices of turkey (140 kcals) you gobbled up within playing 20 minutes of Dodgeball
  • Give yourself a roasting by burning off 4 potatoes (170 kcals) with just 20 minutes of Rowing
  • They may be healthy, but we still need to take into account all those Vegetables (260 kcals) that were gorged down (even the Brussels sprouts ) by doing 20 minutes of Pump & Tone
  • Those four piggies wrapped in blankets come with strings attached as you could do 25 minutes of Touch Tennis to burn the 160 calories
  • All that gravy, stuffing & cranberry sauce combined is 300 calories and equates to an easy 30 minutes of Tchoukball
  • To wash it all down the average person consumes 290 calories worth of alcohol which will be burnt off simply with one hour of Touch American Football
  • Now for dessert - with the most popular being Christmas pudding & mince pies (630 kcals) we recommend two hours of Trampolining

Don't struggle to do this all in one day. Nu2Sport offers all of the sports and classes mentioned above on a weekly basis and we welcome you to come and fulfil your resolutions with us!

Our sessions are designed for students who want to play sport for fun in an environment free from competition, commitment and expectation! You can attend as many sessions as you like and you are always welcome back!
