Graduate Rachael Hobbs has scooped an award in the Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce's Enterprising Women Excellence Awards.

Fashion graduate Rachael Hobbs has scooped an award in the Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce's Enterprising Women Inspire Awards 14.

Rachael won the 'Enterprising New Business Woman of the Year' category after founding her company, Bridge & Stitch, which supports clothing companies through the entire manufacturing process. It offers advice to clients on areas such as design feasibility, costing, budgets and more.

Rachael is supported by The Hive, Nottingham Trent University's purpose-built centre for entrepreneurship and enterprise, which supports the creation of new businesses.

Rachael said: "It was a real surprise to win the award and a great honour to be recognised for the work I have done over the last two years to help support clothing companies through the manufacturing process, particularly focusing on using UK suppliers.

"The whole event was truly inspiring. It is often easy to play down your own achievements and undervalue what you do, so winning the award was a proud moment which offered a chance to step back and realise how much has been achieved in such a short frame of time."
