NTU Archery club shoot their way into the Top 10!

This weekend NTU sent, possibly, their strongest team to the BUCS Indoor Archery Championship. The event was held at the Telford International Centre which was host to over 46 universities. And, the results our team got were ones to make us proud!

This weekend saw NTU send one of their strongest ever teams to the BUCS Indoor Archery Championships. These Championship events are one of the largest archery competitions in the UK with well over 650 competitors – all competing with a wide range of experience and practise!

The event was held at the Telford International Centre which, on the day, was host to over 46 different Universities. When final results were announced, NTU came a very creditable 8th place overall in the experienced category, and 11th in the Novice category.

Several Memorable Performances

Undoubtedly one of the best results for NTU was that of Sports Scholar Amy Curnock who came 3rd in the experienced ladies recurve. Amy scored 562 points out of a possible 600, only 15 points behind the winner ( a very close call indeed!).

This was an outstanding performance from Amy who managed to get 27 out of her 60 arrows into the gold area of the target, all at a distance of 18 meters. Other notable results came from Stephanie Reynolds who was 5th in the same event and Ellie Dyson 11th. Sam Kapadia also finished in an excellent 2nd place in the Novice gent longbow.

Good luck for the rest!

The club are shooting again this weekend in the final BUTTS League indoor event, and will then switch focus to outdoor shooting after Easter. We wish NTU Archery the best of luck for all future events and a very big well done for all their recent performances.
