Runners take part in last year's event

Keen runners are being invited to take part in Nottingham Trent University's RunNTU 2014 on Saturday 26 April 2014. The event – in aid of the University's John van Geest Cancer Research Centre – will take place at the Clifton Campus and will see entrants attempt a multi-terrain 5km run, or a 1.5km family-friendly fun run.

Fancy dress is optional but encouraged, with a prize for the best outfits, and there will be a programme of entertainment and music on the day.

Entry for the 5km event – which also includes an event T-shirt – is £7.50, while the fun run is £5 entry, covering one adult and up to three children.

To register visit runNTU or call 0115 848 8807.

The John van Geest Cancer Research Centre is a unique purpose-built scientific facility. Its aim is to save lives and speed recovery by improving the early diagnosis and treatment of cancer.

The centre focuses on two key approaches to the treatment of patients with cancer – improving the diagnosis and management of breast and prostate cancers, and developing vaccines and immunotherapies to improve the survival rates and quality of life for sufferers. Visit the John van Geest Cancer Research Centre website to find out more about its work, or to make a donation towards its research.
