Professor Painter-Morland delivers exciting Inaugural lecture

Nottingham Business School was proud to have recently hosted an inaugural lecture by Professor Mollie Painter-Morland.

Professor Painter-Morland joined Nottingham Trent University last year to stimulate and contribute to Nottingham Business School's research on responsible and sustainable business practice. She teaches responsible leadership, ethics and accountability in its core postgraduate programmes and contributes to the integration of ethics across the undergraduate curriculum. Mollie also works to facilitate the School's relationships with external networks in sustainability and ethics, and participates in executive development programmes and consultancy activities in this area.

Professor Painter-Morland was previously a tenured Associate Professor in Business Ethics at DePaul University in Chicago and Associate Director of DePaul's Institute for Business and Professional Ethics. Prior to joining DePaul in 2004, she was Director of the Centre for Business and Professional Ethics at the University of Pretoria in South Africa and Associate Professor in its Department of Philosophy. She maintained a part-time position at the University of Pretoria between 2005-2011, and remains active in consultancy services globally. Professor Painter-Morland has been a visiting professor at ESCP Europe (Paris); EDHEC, Lille; IAE, Aix-en-Provence. Throughout her career, her research has focussed on organisational culture, leadership, and ethics within complex organisational environments. She has also been active as a consultant in the areas of business ethics and sustainable business.

Professor Painter-Morland delivered her lecture, "The powers and perils of organisational habituation", to a very captive audience at Nottingham Business School.
