Final year BA (hons) Graphic Design student Claire Jefferies has won a silver at the Creative Conscience Awards

The Creative Conscience Awards is a platform of innovative ideas that encompass world changing creativity. This is a visionary concept that was created as a catalyst for positive change to benefit ethical, moral and worthwhile causes.

The competition is open to all students of creativity across the globe whose conscience has encouraged them to build a passion for a certain cause and presents a fantastic opportunity for them to utilise their creative talent to make a positive change in the world.

Claire Jefferies won the silver award for her First Aid Fred App/game for children. The First Aid Fred gaming App aims to communicate basic first aid skills in an engaging, fun and interactive way to 8-14 year olds, on behalf of the Red Cross.

Claire said, "Going to a first aid course at university made me realise how easy it is to know basic first aid and potentially save a life. If children know these basic skills then as an adult they should feel confident if an accident arises."

The winning students from each category are invited to an exclusive awards ceremony in central London. The event gives winners the chance to network with the judges, CCA ambassadors and other highly regarded creative professionals. In addition internships and placements may be offered to winning students.

Claire added, "When I received my award I felt so happy. I have never won an award before and it made me realise that hard work does pay off! I feel privileged to have won a silver, it's nice to know people like my work."

Along with her silver award, Claire was selected from all the nominees and winners by the Design Council as one of three 'ones to watch' in the future.
