With customers now wanting more from their wedding packages, one Nottingham venue has decided to bestow a new name on its successful wedding offer. Nottingham Conference Centre is now calling its elegant wedding setting Arkwright Rooms.

The centre has seen an 81% rise in revenue from its wedding offer since opening in 2011 and has observed a trend in customers desiring more complex packages. As a result it decided a new name was required to convey the quality of both the location and the offer.

Jillian Miles, Conference and Events Operations Manager for the venue, said: “We wanted to choose a name which reflected the stunning, historic buildings our wedding ceremonies and receptions are held within. Nestled in the heart of Nottingham, in a beautifully restored Grade II listed 19th Century building with Victorian architecture, Arkwright Rooms offers a unique setting for weddings in Nottingham.”

Couples are now searching for venues which can offer a full range of services, including canapés and drinks reception, ceremony, evening reception and sophisticated wedding breakfast menus.

In response, Arkwright Rooms makes full use of the elegant spaces in the building to host larger parties of 200 guests as well as small, intimate gatherings. A picturesque courtyard supplies a splendid backdrop of elaborate Gothic design arches for photographs and outdoor entertainment while the stunning vaulted ceilings and stained glass windows within provide a perfect setting for ceremonies and receptions.

The romantic history of the building – once the learning place of celebrated author D. H. Lawrence – and the elegant service offered are now honoured with the new Arkwright Rooms name which also reflects the separation of the wedding offer from that of the main conference centre.

Ms Miles said: “It is a privilege to share such a special day with so many newlyweds and we are delighted with the positive feedback we have received. We hope Arkwright Rooms will prove a memorable venue for the start of many more marriages to come.”
