Three recent Nottingham Trent University graduates have been selected to participate in the upcoming UK Young Artists Leicester Festival 2014, taking place between Friday 7 and Sunday 9 November.

The graduates were selected through a national call for artists working across all art forms and aged between 18 and 30. The festival will showcase their work and also offer a range of professional development opportunities. All events taking place during the Leicester Festival are open to the public and free to attend.

Terry Shave, Head Visual Arts at Nottingham Trent University's School of Art & Design and chair of UK Young Artists, said: "The range and quality of creative work submitted for the Leicester Festival was outstanding. The selection panel had a difficult task of choosing 70 artists from all the submissions received. The Festival promises to be our best and most diverse yet."

The Nottingham Trent University graduates selected to take part in the Leicester Festival 2014 are Anna White, BA (Hons) Photography; Beth Shapeero, BA (Hons) Fine Art and  Joshua Green, BA (Hons) Fine Art.

Their work forms a full programme of visual art, performance, moving image and music. Anna, Beth and Joshua will be part of the Festival's visual art programme and their work will be exhibited at either Two Queens or The Silver Arcade. Full programme and venue details will be available via the UK Young Artists website.

Rob Brannen, Head of School of Arts at De Montfort University, Leicester said: "The Festival programme covers visual art, theatre, photography, moving image, music, crafts, dance and spoken word, and UK Young Artists is delighted to be working with Leicester venues to present such an exciting wide-range of work to the public."

UK Young Artists is a not-for-profit organisation that aims to nurture and develop young artists through national and international showcases and professional development opportunities. The Leicester Festival will be the organisation's third biennial national showcase event following Derby in 2010 and World Event Young Artists in Nottingham in 2012.

UK Young Artists was founded by De Montfort University, Nottingham Trent University, Derby University, Loughborough University and Arts Council England.
