Second year BA (Hons) Fashion Design students are embarking on a new industry live project this year. The founder of clothing brand All Saints and Bolongaro Trevor, alumnus Stuart Trevor (BA (Hons) Fashion Design, 1988) has set the students a brief to design a collection of 6/7 menswear outfits that reflect the ethos of the Bolongaro Trevor label.

The Bolongaro Trevor brand has a distinctive, edgy design with a twist on menswear classics and military tailoring to create unique and determinedly British collections full of quality and attention to detail. The brand have always designed clothes for the 'cool', designing for many pop and rock stars, including The Libertines and most notably Roger Daltrey from the iconic 1960's band The Who.

Stuart designed the suit jacket worn by Roger Daltrey during The Who's performance at the London 2012 Olympic closing ceremony. He said: "I met with Roger to talk about designing a jacket for him, and he liked the jacket I was wearing at the meeting so much he literally took it off my back! This was the jacket he wore for the performance."

Stuart visited Nottingham Trent University on Monday 13 October to deliver the brief to the students in person, giving an entertaining and informative presentation reflecting on his career and inspiration to date. Students have since started working on the design brief, and we're looking forward to seeing the final collections later in the year.
