Finance graduates counting on career head start with industry qualification

Graduates entering the investment profession will be given a head start in their careers after Nottingham Business School became a recognised partner of the Investment Management Certificate (IMC) Advantage qualification.

Graduates entering the investment profession will be given a head start in their careers after Nottingham Business School became a recognised partner of the Investment Management Certificate (IMC) Advantage qualification, awarded by the CFA Society of the UK.

The certificate is a first year requirement in most leading investment firms in the UK to demonstrate competence for regulatory purposes, so students who undertake the award during their studies have a clear advantage when it comes to employability.

IMC Advantage awards the country's top universities and business schools with recognised partner status; highlighting the significant alignment of the (IMC) syllabus to specific finance undergraduate courses.

We look forward to working closely with NBS to ensure students are well-informed about how best to prepare themselves for entering the profession.

Nick Bartlett, Director of Education, CFA Society of the UK

Students on the BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance and BA (Hons) Business Management and Accounting and Finance degrees at Nottingham Business School, Nottingham Trent University, will now be able to take the qualification alongside their studies and leave with a boost to their CV.

Nick Bartlett, ASIP, CFA, Director of Education, CFA Society of the UK, comments: "The recognition agreement highlights that these degrees provide significant coverage of the IMC qualification and are highly relevant to professional practice.

"It signals to employers that Nottingham Business School graduates have made a conscientious first step towards a career in investment management. We look forward to working closely with Nottingham Business School to ensure students are well-informed about how best to prepare themselves for entering the investment profession."
