Fashion Communication and Promotion students Isobel Ludbrook and Georgia Sheeran recently worked alongside the Marketing Team at Confetti Media group where they were involved with a range of tasks related to promoting both Confetti and Notts TV.

Notts TV is a local television channel which aims to cover local news and produce an ambitious range of general programmes which are directly relevant to people who live, work and study in Nottingham and surrounding areas. NTU is one of four partners involved in the Notts TV consortium which also includes the Nottingham Post Group, Confetti Media Group and Inclusive Digital.

Notts TV News, which is broadcast from one of our studios here at Nottingham Trent University, has a broad agenda, covering politics, business, sport, consumer news, the arts, weather and travel.

The work experience opportunity, which was promoted via NTU's online work platform, has allowed both students, who are from a fashion orientated course, to gain experience and develop transferable skills in a different industry. Isobel told us: "I learnt more about time management due to shorter deadlines and I also developed my communication, teamwork and visual skills. It has given me more confidence in applying for more work placements and working in the marketing industry as a whole. It has opened my eyes to a different and another exciting industry."

Georgia, who wants to go into the marketing industry after graduating said: "I wanted an internship which would further my skills in marketing and e-commerce to ultimately broaden my CV. I felt working at Notts TV would be the perfect opportunity to develop relevant skills to make me more employable in the future."

Hollie-Anne Brookes, Digital Media Marketing Executive at Confetti Media Group was seriously impressed by the students and said: "As an NTU Fashion Communication and Promotion graduate, I knew the current students would be the perfect ones to help out in the marketing team at Confetti Media Group. Isobel and Georgia both excelled with everything from researching to helping out with mood boards and writing copy for our social media pages. We're working with a few other Fashion Communication and Promotion students from NTU and we're so excited to see what they do and the ideas they come up with!"
