Talented NTU staff and alumni selected for Nottingham Castle Open Exhibition

For more than 100 years, Nottingham Castle Museum & Art Gallery has played host to an 'open-style' exhibition which celebrates the enormous creative talent within the region. This year a number of NTU staff and alumni have been selected to exhibit.

For more than 100 years, Nottingham Castle Museum & Art Gallery has played host to an 'open-style' exhibition which celebrates the enormous creative talent within the region. The Nottingham Castle Open is one of the busiest and most exciting events in the Castle's annual calendar.

This year's exhibition is no exception. Opening on 13 December until 18 January 2015, the exhibition is set to be a 'visual feast' that demonstrates current artistic practices from the widest possible range of work made over the past 12 months.

A number of staff and alumni from Nottingham Trent University are involved, including:

  • Jackie Berridge (BA Hons Fine Art 1995)
  • Lotti Closs (BA Hons Fine Art 2009)
  • Craig Fisher (Lecturer in Visual Arts)
  • Abi Hubbard (BA Hons Fine Art 2014)
  • Melanie Jakubson (BA Hons Fine Art 2014)
  • Geoff Diego Litherland (Visiting Lecturer in Fine Art),
  • Danica Maier (Lecturer in Visual Arts) 
  • James Politano (BA Hons Fine Art 2014) 
  • Bobby Sayers (BA Hons Fine Art 2012)
  • Oliver Tirré (BA Hons Fine Art 2012).

Each exhibitor has the chance to receive a wide variety of prizes, which include the Grand Prize of £2,000, alongside other cash, materials, exhibition and residency opportunities, all courtesy of the many sponsors who support the exhibition. All prizes will be announced at the closing party on Saturday 17 January 2015.
