The Brackenhurst Library has been shortlisted for a building performance award.

Winners of the awards – which aim to recognise people, products and projects that demonstrate engineering excellence in the built environment – will be announced during a ceremony in London on 10 February.

Large open spaces and smaller study areas, supported by innovative shelving design and a variety of types of furniture, were included in the design to allow for a dynamic social and flexible environment which caters for both group and quiet study. Horticulture students designed some soft landscaping for the outside of the library.

Let's hope it's a winner, our students certainly think it is!
