When it comes to new and innovative product design, one size doesn't fit all. Which is why Future Factory, part of Nottingham Trent University, are offering small and medium businesses in the East Midlands the opportunity to access bespoke product and design assistance.

The free tailored programme of support is specifically designed to help businesses explore alternative design methods and cutting edge materials for designing in a more sustainable way.

The service recognises that every challenge is different. Future Factory's specialist design intervention team offer one-to-one support to help businesses find the right solution, including initial concept design, prototype development and 3D printing.

NTU has a range of leading expertise within the design field and has strong links with innovative material collections from around the world. Access to the University's state of the art workshops and the latest equipment and technology is also available.

Dana Church, Business Support Coordinator and Resident Designer, has a wealth of experience in materials advice, manufacturing alternatives and contacts, branding, CGI content and animation for marketing. He said: "We know that there are people out there who have some fantastic ideas for new and innovative products. The problem can be knowing how to translate that idea into an initial concept design. That's where we can help."
