£200 award for Fashion Management students

Five BA (Hons) Fashion Management students were awarded £200 each from the Textile Distributors Association (TDA) for their exceptional academic achievements.

Five BA (Hons) Fashion Management students were awarded £200 each by David Mills and Mike Parker, from the Textile Distributors Association (TDA) for their exceptional academic achievements in Year Two.

The students are currently working with prestigious companies in professional roles for their year-long industrial placements.

  • Celia Calvert – Merchandising Assistant Menswear Street and Sports Brands at ASOS
  • Laura Purcell – Product and Merchandising Assistant at Kipling
  • Catarina Carvalho – Product Development & Merchandising Assistant at Wrangler
  • Lana Quilty – Marketing Assistant at River Island
  • India Stow – Consumer Marketing Intern at Wrangler

Due to many of the students securing overseas placements, Laura Purcell and Celia Calvert were the only recipients available to collect their award on the day.

Laura told us: "It was such a lovely surprise to win the award. Being recognised for hard work is a great feeling and it just shows that it pays off!"

The TDA have always had a close relationship with our BA (Hons) Fashion Management course. They are hugely supportive and frequently donate money to give more opportunities to our students.

David Mills commented: "Once again Mike Parker and I are delighted to have been invited to the Call Back Day. The TDA have been associated with the Fashion Management course for 14 years, and once again it was so heartening and encouraging to see the enthusiasm of the students and to hear of their first experience of the world of work."
