Government announces new funding for food industry training

Following a recent announcement, Food and Drink Manufacturers can now access funding to cover 100% of degree tuition fees.

Following a recent announcement, food and drinks manufacturers can now access funding to cover 100% of degree tuition fees.

As long as the degree forms part of a Higher Level Apprenticeship, employers can draw down government funding to cover up to 100% of the tuition fees, depending on the age of the apprentice and size of the business.

Employing an apprentice not only allows you to meet the skills needs unique to your business, but also brings other advantages like increased productivity and development of a more motivated and loyal workforce.

By combining an apprenticeship with a workplace-based degree, your business can benefit from the latest thinking in product development, manufacturing, technology, and biochemistry, whilst your staff can obtain two higher level qualifications side-by-side.

NTU's Foundation Degree in Food Science and Technology is eligible for this funding, meaning potential savings of up to £6,750 per apprentice per year.

Places are limited, so contact Adam Keenan, Commercial Account Manager on +44 (0)115 848 2351 or email us to learn more about our courses and the ways in which we can help you develop your workforce.
