Nottingham Trent University has moved up six places in the Guardian University Guide 2016 thanks to improved scores for student satisfaction in course quality, teaching and feedback.

Now standing at 51st overall, this positive move reflects the work the University has been undertaking to enhance teaching and learning. This includes the launch of an award-winning Student Dashboard to allow students to track their own engagement with their studies and a new feedback system to identify areas of strong performance and those for improvement.

Three subjects also appear in the top ten of their corresponding tables. Nottingham Trent University's high-performing Journalism courses, which were recently ranked in the top 200 in the world by QS World University Rankings® by Subject, are placed fourth out of 57 institutions by The Guardian.

In both the 'Design and Crafts' and 'Fashion and Textiles' categories, the University stands in 10th position, out of 71 and 42 respectively, for courses which often see students go on to win industry awards.

Nottingham Trent University Vice-Chancellor, Professor Edward Peck, said: "During the last few months we have received extensive recognition for a number of initiatives, from our volunteering schemes to our innovative business partnerships and teaching methods.

"This improved position in the Guardian University Guide is yet another vital sign that Nottingham Trent University's commitment to innovation in teaching and learning is having a strong impact on our students, both in relation to their satisfaction with things that really matter to them while they are studying here and in their employment prospects when they graduate."
