Alumnus Lynsey Wilkinson is starring in a national campaign to encourage more people to train as RE teachers.

Alumnus Lynsey Wilkinson is starring in a national campaign to encourage more people to train as Religious Education (RE) teachers.

Lynsey qualified through our Graduate Teacher Programme in 2009, after studying BA (Hons) Broadcast Journalism at NTU, and now works as an RE teacher at Redhill Academy, Nottingham.

She is fronting the 'Beyond the Ordinary' campaign being run by Teach:RE, which is supported by a number of charitable trusts and organisations, including the Religious Education Council of England and Wales.

With the government reintroducing bursaries for teacher-training, Teach:RE aims to find extraordinary individuals who have what it takes to teach RE and help young people make sense of the world around them by addressing the big questions in life.

As the star of their recruitment video, she explains her reasons behind becoming an RE teacher and what the role is all about.

See the video and read Lynsey's interview with the Nottingham Post and find out more about 'Beyond the Ordinary' on the Teach:RE website.
