NTU Chamber Choir trip to Sheffield

Following a successful year, the NTU Chamber Choir took a trip to Sheffield to perform a selection of their favourite pieces at the Upper Chapel.

On Saturday 30 May the NTU Chamber Choir took a trip to Sheffield, to perform a summer concert at the Upper Chapel, located in the heart of Sheffield's busy city centre.

The evening was a fantastic opportunity for the choir to perform their eclectic and impressive repertoire built and developed throughout the academic year one final time, before breaking up for summer.

The evening included a refreshing mixed programme from modern composers such as Karl Jenkins, John Rutter and Eric Whitacre, as well as popular music by Elton John, the Bee Gees and Michael Jackson.

The concert also featured solo performances by six choir final year members Hannah Locke, Anna Wright, Andrew Ness, Georgina Kiely, Sam Telford and Lauren Garrill. Each solo performance provided the audience with a variety of musical genres including classical, Irish folk and musical theatre.

The concert was a fantastic way to conclude the academic year for the choir, having contributed to the endless list of successful performances delivered throughout the three terms, from surprise flash mob performances at corporate events to busking around Nottingham, without of course forgetting an amazing week singing at stunning venues around Budapest.

In true spirit of the choir, the evening concluded with the inevitable passionate sing-along on the coach all the way back to Nottingham – a great ending to a phenomenal year.

We are incredibly saddened to say farewell to so many of our students who will be graduating this summer, we would like to wish good luck to you all.
