Solutionpath named NTU supplier of the year

NTU Procurement recognised best practice in its diverse supply chains recently by hosting its Supplier Awards 2015.

Nottingham Trent University recognised good practice in its diverse supply chain recently at the Supplier Awards 2015.

Professor Edward Peck, NTU's Vice-Chancellor, welcomed 120 suppliers to the award ceremony in the historic Old Library in the University's Arkwright building.

The awards were hosted by NTU Procurement and kindly sponsored by Office Depot, Softcat and Blueprint Promotional Products Limited.

The event was held in aid of the John van Geest Cancer Research Centre, and Professor Bob Rees, Director of the Centre, talked about the work they are doing. 

Gillian Askew, Head of Procurement, also spoke about the SCoRE programme, a strategy aimed at delivering increased value to the University through sustainability, commercial effectiveness, research and employability. 

DTP Solutionpath were named as NTU Supplier of the Year. Gillian Askew, Head of Procurement at NTU, said: "DTP Solutionpath have gone beyond simply engaging with NTU in a supplier customer relationship context, but have developed innovative tools and resources that are having a direct impact on student engagement."

Richard Gascoigne, Director at Solutionpath, said: "This is truly a great accolade and one that we are all very proud of indeed. It reflects a collaborative working arrangement, not just from the NTU IT team, but also across the University. We are proud to service NTU and to be seen as their supplier of the year."

Awards and winners


Contribution to Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility: Epona Clothing.

Contribution to Student Experience: DTP Solution Path
The Tutor Dashboard was implemented two years ago and provides sophisticated data analytics to ensure the students get the best possible experience with their personal tutor while at University.

Award for Innovation: ePrint Direct Ltd
In partnership with NTU, ePrint launched Skyline, a web-2-print product enabling online access to professional print.

Excellence in Customer Services: Blueprint Promotional Products Limited
Blueprint have proven that they are able to work with the different areas of NTU, understand their customer service needs and they consistently deliver a high volume of quality goods.

Best Cost Saving Initiative: AB Sciex
AB Sciex have shown a commitment to NTU Research by giving the John van Geest Cancer Research Centre a six-month free loan period of a mass spectrometer crucially saving several weeks of analysis.

Best Use of Technology (collaborative): IBM and Simpson Associates
Duplication of student numbers and income, along with staff and financial planning models to produce five-year plans and HEFCE financial forecasts have been consolidated and automated, making analysis and reporting significantly more efficient and effective.

Supplier of the Year 2015 was awarded to DTP Solutionpath for the Tutor Dashboard.
