BAIB annual social event and language mentor scheme

On Monday 12 October 2015, BA (Hons) International Business (BAIB) students new and old were welcomed back with the first BAIB Social Event of the Year.

The event was organised by Elaine Arici, BAIB Year Two Tutor. This was the first of three annual planned social events for the BAIB programme, each themed with world music, drinks and snacks, to reflect the international nature of the programme.

These events are an occasion for BAIB students of all levels, pathways and nationalities to meet and mix with one another, creating a sense of community and strengthening a sense of belonging to the programme.

The BAIB programme has also recently launched the BAIB Language Mentor (BALM) scheme, which seeks to offer a framework where language support can be offered on a reciprocal basis between BAIB students, developing their competencies, which is core to the BAIB programme.

Owned and coordinated by BAIB final year students, under the guidance of Paul Wreaves, Paul Garratt and Elaine Arici, this initiative will connect the students with a group of BAIB Alumni Language mentors who will offer additional language expertise and guidance.
