Welcome to our weekly roundup of results from Wednesday's matches in BUCS games for Nottingham Trent University.

So that's it then. Ten weeks of fixtures have come to an end and the Christmas break is upon us! There were 39 games scheduled for action on Wednesday 9 December, with 20 at home and 19 away. One match was rearranged, and of the matches that took place, NTU won 39.47% of them (15 from 38 completed). Our season win percentage currently stands at 44.67 %. Nottingham Trent University sits 19th in the BUCS Table.

Biggest result

This category can stand for the team that won by the greatest margin, or alternatively can mean the result that means the most in the context.

The winner of this award this week will be a women's squad. Two competitors vie for it; Basketball 1s who beat Lincoln 79-9 (the biggest numeric gap) and Hockey 3s, who beat Worcester 19-0 (the biggest score in context). Both are table toppers and unbeaten this season, with large goal differences. It's difficult to separate the two, so both win the Biggest Result this week.

Team performance

This category can be won by anyone – team, players or sports clubs for overall performance as a group.

Men's Volleyball take the award this week. They sit in pole position in Midlands 2A and a 3-0 defeat of Loughborough 2s this week, on top of a win away last week when many teams are finding team selection difficult shows their commitment. We hope they continue this form in 2016! Well done lads.

That's all, folks! Only one match remains in BUCS leagues for 2016 for Men's Rugby Union 1s team away to Bishop Burton on 16th December. So whilst you all relax at home or do your shopping, spare a thought for them!
