It's official, Nottingham is a UNESCO City of Literature!

This recognises Nottingham's contribution to literature and its vibrant contemporary literary scene, alongside the work that is taking place to develop levels of literacy in the city.

News of the success was released on 11 December 2015 after a 13-month-long process.

As NTU Library's Beyond Studying webpages demonstrate, Nottingham has an exciting and diverse cultural scene. We are delighted this has been recognised by UNESCO and hope that it will encourage people to visit, explore and celebrate Nottingham-based literature and heritage.

Read more about this achievement here. Further news about what becoming a UNESCO City of Literature will mean for Nottingham will be posted on the official campaign site shortly.
