Four selected students from our BA (Hons) Fine Art course are taking part in an international masterclass at Ringling College of Art & Design in Florida, and the Royal Academy of Fine Arts and St Lucas School of Arts in Antwerp.

Final Year Fine Art students Hannah Lockwood, Alexandra Rose, Jessica Lonie and Alice Hunt were all chosen to take part in the collaboration from proposals they submitted in Year Two.

Mapping the Site is a collaborative international project, which presents a great opportunity for students to exhibit internationally and at a professional level.

In November 2015 they travelled to Ringling College of Art & Design in Sarasota, Florida, spending a week producing work which was subsequently exhibited at the Crossley Gallery. Guy Debord's reflections on 'the spectacle' formed the conceptual starting point of the workshop. Students and staff reflected and worked around a multitude of aspects of the spectacle, such as audience, being the scenes organisation, the impact of advertisement and the logistics.

The students are currently in Antwerp, again taking part in an intensive week-long workshop, and will exhibit their work before returning to Nottingham. You can see what they've been getting up to on our social media hub.
