The theme of the event focused on recent insolvency initiatives within the European Union and the prospects of harmonisation of insolvency and commercial laws. In attendance were Professor Rebecca Parry and Zoltan Fabok, one of the centre's doctoral researchers.

The event, which took place the day before the ILA’s main conference, attracted some 75 delegates from across the United Kingdom, including researchers specialising in international and comparative insolvency as well as practitioners and representatives of the banking industry.
