Supplier Forum and Recognition Awards 2016

NTU Procurement recognised best practice of its diverse supply chains recently at the Supplier Awards 2016.

Nottingham Trent University's Vice Chancellor, Professor Edward Peck, welcomed nearly 200 delegates to the University's Supplier Forum and Recognition Awards on Wednesday 27 April 2016. The event was sponsored by Snow Software, Urban Eat, and 2015's Supplier of the Year winner DTP Solutionpath. The awards recognise best practice in NTU's diverse supply chains and six suppliers were named for their outstanding service.

As well as the awards, the day provided delegates with the opportunity to learn more about the University's strategy and direction. Gillian Askew, NTU's Head of Procurement, talked about the SCoRE programme, a strategy aimed at delivering increased value to the University through Sustainability, Commercial Effectiveness, Research, and Employability. Other speakers were Professor Graham Pockley, John van Geest Cancer Research Centre, Craig Chettle, representing Notts TV, and Mike Carr, NTU's Pro Vice Chancellor for Employer and Economic Engagement.

Generous donations from NTU's suppliers raised £295.55 on the day for the John van Geest Cancer Research Centre. This is enough to test the health of the immune system of 33 patients with breast or prostate cancer which, in turn, will enable them to receive the most effective treatments and help the centre gather the data to analyse how they respond to those treatments.
