NLS Hosts Prominent Australian Insolvency Academic

On 18 July 2016 the Centre for Business and Insolvency Law recently played host to Associate Professor Colin Anderson on the occasion of his return visit to the Nottingham Law School.

On 18 July 2016 the Centre for Business and Insolvency Law recently played host to Associate Professor Colin Anderson on the occasion of his return visit to the Nottingham Law School. Professor Anderson, who is a member of the Commercial and Property Law Research Centre within the Faculty of Law at the Queensland University of Technology last visited Nottingham in 2013 as a Visiting Scholar. Professor Anderson is a noted scholar in Australia in the field of corporate rescue with a specific interest in economics and law approaches to evaluating insolvency law regimes. He is also the editor of the Insolvency Law Journal and a prolific author of texts and articles in the area of corporate and insolvency law.

Nottingham Law School has had for many years a collaboration with the Faculty of Law in Brisbane. Under the aegis of this collaboration, an exchange programme for staff was initiated and which has seen members of both institutions travel to deliver student lectures and staff seminars. In addition, both institutions are involved in the Insolvency Practitioner Project, led by Nottingham Law School and supported by INSOL International, which will provide an analysis of the challenges facing the structuring of insolvency practice around the world.
