The School of Social Sciences has achieved fantastic results in the latest National Student Survey (NSS), with the BA (Hons) Sociology, BA (Hons) Politics, BSc (Hons) Psychology with Sociology and BA (Hons) Youth Studies courses all receiving 100% overall satisfaction ratings.

The results, published in August 2016, show that 100% of our BA (Hons) Politics, BSc (Hons) Psychology with Sociology, BA (Hons) Youth Studies and BA (Hons) Youth Justice students agree that their course is intellectually stimulating and that they find that staff are good at explaining things. Students from our BSc (Hons) Psychology with Sociology, BA (Hons) Youth Studies and BA (Hons) Youth Justice all unanimously agree that staff have made their subjects interesting.

The survey also determined that NTU is the leading university for Sociology in the region (NSS Results 2016, JACS Code level 3, FT Study, First Degree) as well as being ranked in the top five in the country for student satisfaction (National Student Survey 2016).

The National Student Survey (NSS) gathers students' opinions on the quality of their courses. The purpose of this is to contribute to public accountability, help inform the choices of prospective students and provide data that assists institutions in enhancing the student experience.
