Passing on the torch of insolvency scholarship: Nottingham insolvency team editorial success

The Academic Forum conferences, which are held twice annually, are a significant forum for academics researching and teaching in insolvency in Europe and worldwide.

The INSOL Europe Academic Forum conference on 21-22 September 2016 in Lisbon, Portugal, saw the appointment of Dr Jenny Gant, a member of the Centre for Business and Insolvency Law at Nottingham Law School, as the new editor of the Technical Series publications. She succeeds Professor Rebecca Parry, also of the Nottingham Law School.

Dr Gant, who is also the Chair of the Young Academics' Network in Insolvency Law (an offshoot of the Academic Forum), has been a regular participant in the work of the Academic Forum – the academic offshoot of INSOL Europe, a pan-European association of academics, judges and practitioners in the field of insolvency with over 1200 members across the continent.

The Academic Forum conferences, which are held twice annually, are a significant forum for academics researching and teaching in insolvency in Europe and worldwide. Presentations at the Academic Forum conferences are normally collected in the conference proceedings booklets that have been regularly published since 2009. The conference proceedings booklets accompany other publications in the Technical Series produced by INSOL Europe and its judicial wing. Overall, the publications are intended to form a comprehensive report of conferences and contain accounts of recent research in the field of insolvency useful for academics, judges, policy-makers and practitioners alike.
