Five students selected for World University Winter Games

Five students selected for World University Winter Games

Five current Nottingham Trent University (NTU) students have been selected to represent Great Britain in the World University Winter Games (WUWG), which will take place from 29 January to 8 February in Almaty, Kazakhstan, 2017.

The WUWG is widely recognised as the second largest multisport games in the world after the Olympics, and has progressively risen to world-class in scale and standard. The competition takes place every two years, with over 2,500 participants from 50+ countries.

NTU are well known for their strength at ice hockey, and this is shown by the selection of four of our students. Thomas Hovell and Joseph Gretton will be representing the men's team, and Lucy Kendall and Holly Steeples make up our female contingent.

Also heading to Kazakhstan is Charles Parry-Evans, who has done fantastically well to be selected as the only figure skater.

Well done and good luck to our students!
