NTU Netball Scholar picked for Loughborough Lightning U19 squad

Nottingham Trent Netball Scholar, Adelaide Muskwe, has been selected for the Loughborough Lightning National Performance League (NPL) squad, after having impressed at recent trials.

Muskwe is a first-year Product Design student at Nottingham Trent, and after attending a rigorous selection procedure including fitness testing, skills and match-play, she gained selection into the U19 Loughborough Lightning squad.

The U19 squad are the youth team of the Loughborough Lightning Senior team, who play in the Netball Superleague, the highest level of Netball in England. To be part of their NPL U19 squad is a great achievement, and means that Muskwe will be playing against of each of the Superleague teams’ respective youth squads. Therefore games often take place before Superleague matches, giving the opoortunity for the U19s to play in front of a big crowd and on a big stage.

Speaking of her selection, Muskwe commented: “I am very delighted to be selected into the National Performance League, representing the Loughborough Lightning franchise. It’s a great opportunity to play with girls at a high performance level, and to train alongside the Superleague squad.”

We are delighted to have such a talented player playing for Nottingham Trent, and Muskwe has identified her time as an NTU Scholar as the perfect opportunity to develop her physical strength, whilst helping the Netball 1st team to move up the BUCS league.
