Success for NTU WTF Taewkondo club at the British Poomsae Championships

Success for NTU WTF Taewkondo club at the British Poomsae Championships.

Last weekend, the NTU WTF Taekwondo club braved the mats at the Wildcat Arena in Nottingham for the National British Taekwando Poomsae Championships, 2016.

The team comprised of Jonathan Hayes (NTU alumni), and second year students Alice David and Caspher Lo. Having trained for the competition for weeks, and almost every day for the preceding two weeks, they were more than ready for the competition.

Individual performances were first and Hayes started the day off with a clean and precise performance. A bronze medal was no more than he deserved. Lo then followed this up brilliantly, adding a silver medal which was greeted by a very enthusiastic Team Kang Han applause. Alice David then rounded off the individual performances with a confident display to earn herself a well-deserved Bronze medal.

Next up were the Pairs and Teams rounds, in which Lo and David competed together. After bowing to the judges, the NTU pair performed in complete synchronization and completely blew them away to win the gold.

Hayes had a more difficult task ahead of him in his team round, having never met the other athletes before. However, this did not seem to affect him at all, and another amazing performance achieved yet another gold medal.

Congratulations to all involved, and if you would like to follow their achievements, follow NTU Taekwando WTF on Facebook.
