Nottingham Law School has received accreditation from the Bar Council of India which recognises the high standard of its undergraduate qualifying law degree.

The accreditation means that the LLB course is now accepted as part of the educational route towards practising law in India.

As part of the process, members of the Bar Council of India visited Nottingham Law School to see its facilities and ensure the quality of its courses. They also visited the Legal Advice Centre to learn about the pro bono work done by students.

Helen Hudson, Head of Legal Development at Nottingham Law School, said: “Accreditation from the Bar Council of India demonstrates our quality as a Law School. It means that Indian students can study with us confident in the knowledge that they are beginning their career with a qualification recognised in their home country.”
