A new collaboration between NTU and Vision West Nottinghamshire College is encouraging SMEs to innovate and grow

A new collaboration between Nottingham Trent University and Vision West Nottinghamshire College will be encouraging small businesses in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire to innovate and grow via a series of free Insight Breakfasts and Masterclass sessions. The sessions will be delivered at the impressive Vision University Centre, a fantastic new facility at Vision West Nottinghamshire College.

Our Insight Breakfasts will offer a bite-sized introduction to hot topics relevant to local SMEs. For those inspired by our breakfast events, we encourage you to look out for our monthly Masterclass sessions, including Innovation Planning on Wednesday 15 February 2017, for a more detailed look at the topics covered. Further events will take place in the near future so please keep an eye on our website or sign up for our newsletter. We will be supporting small and medium sized businesses in the D2N2 area (Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire) to innovate, develop and succeed as they grow. All of our events will have the opportunity for networking so you will get the chance to talk to fellow delegates as well as our staff to find out more about the business support we can offer to you.

Our first event launching our collaboration with Vision West Nottinghamshire College will include an introduction to NTU’s Enabling Innovation programme and some information about the events offered by the hubs of activity. The event will continue with guest speaker Richard Lee delivering a talk on the art of achieving, entrepreneurship and how to unlock the leader within you. Richard is a former professional footballer who played for Fulham FC, Watford FC and Blackburn Rovers FC in a career that spanned 15 years. Following this, Richard became a serial entrepreneur, having created several successful businesses from scratch. One of his successful projects gained a large investment on the popular TV show Dragon’s Den. Richard has since built an array of businesses including a performance driven football agency, vintage coffee truck franchise, goalkeeping coaching franchise, app business and a health based networking business. He is a bestselling author, with his book ‘Graduation: Life Lessons of a Professional Footballer’, and is a regular reporter on the Sky Sports Soccer Saturday show.

This introductory event launching and celebrating the collaboration between Nottingham Trent University and Vision West Nottinghamshire College will take place on Wednesday 18 January 2017 and will run from 8am -10am, beginning with breakfast and networking.
