Decorative Arts alumna, Aimee Bollu, was selected by a panel of industry specialists to exhibit at New Designers’ One Year On exhibition. Since graduating from NTU in 2015, Aimee has continued to work from her studio at Backlit in Nottingham.

Aimee told us: “Studying at NTU was a beautiful experience and I still miss being part of the community! It prepared me for exhibiting internationally and finding my creative voice, although I feel I am still learning a lot and will continue to do so. The support of Tthe Hive (NTU’s Centre for Entrepreneurship and Enterprise) was invaluable; after graduating I received support that saw me purchase my first ceramic kiln and get my studio running.”

One Year On is a high profile, destination feature within the New Designers graduate exhibition, showcasing designers with an entrepreneurial flair in their first year of business. It gives the chosen designers exposure to thousands of potential buyers and contacts, and provides endless networking opportunities with industry professionals and sponsors.

Aimee added: “I received so much press from exhibiting at New Designers, for example through newspapers with readerships of over 746,000 including the Guardian and Ceramic Review. I also made sales at the show and received orders and offers of such variety.”
