Poullett signs two-year contract with Nottingham Rugby

NTU Rugby scholar Josh Poullett has signed two-year contract with Nottingham Rugby.

We are pleased to announce that back rower and NTU sport scholar, Josh Poullet, has signed a two-year contract with Nottingham Rugby.

The 23 year-old number eight has put pen to paper on his first, full time, professional contract with the Green & Whites, after combining rugby with his studies at Nottingham Trent University for the previous three years.

The Nottingham-born, former Paviors youngster has been on the clubs books since the 2013/14 season, whilst studying for a Sports Science degree at NTU. Now, on the completion of his master’s, Poullet has committed himself to Ian Costello’s side for a further two seasons.

Having been on the periphery of the squad in his first three seasons with the club, Poullet is now a first team regular at The Bay. He has scored two tries in 19 league appearances so far during the current campaign, and having already captained our first team, he was also given to opportunity to captain Nottingham, in their British & Irish Cup win against Richmond, back in December.

Speaking about retaining the promising, young back, a delighted head coach Costello said:

“Josh is a really exciting talent, one of the most promising players in the league, so to secure his services for two years is a fantastic statement by the club moving forward. It’s particularly pleasing to sign a player who’s come through the club, a local boy, who has always wanted to play for Nottingham.

“Already, Josh has a status within the group. He captained the team in the B&I Cup and that’s reflective on where we think he will be in the future. He has some top class characteristics, his footwork, agility and pace, all of which we look forward to seeing for the next two seasons at The Bay.”

Congratulations Josh!
