Connecting our NTU students with local Nottinghamshire employers on a short-term summer placement.
Grads4Nottm is back for summer 2017.
Our 2016 Grads4Nottm short-term placement scheme was shortlisted for the Times Higher Education Award for “Outstanding Employer Engagement”. Grads4Nottm has been widely recognised as a valuable scheme which successfully brings Nottinghamshire employers of all sizes and industries together with students, and supports keeping local talent in Nottingham.
Last year’s scheme saw 120 students placed across 40 local businesses in order to develop innovative solutions to business challenges. This was a great experience for our students, who learned vital employability skills and developed their confidence in the workplace.
Grads4Nottm has proven itself equally as beneficial for employers – read about how the Grads4Nottm scheme saved an employer £10,000 in design costs.
We think that 2017 is going to be the best year yet.
Earlier this year we put the call out to Nottinghamshire based businesses who:
- had an interesting and innovative real-life business challenge, and
- could host at least two NTU students for a two-week work experience placement.
We had a fantastic response from employers, and from our students, and would like to thank everyone who has decided to get involved.
Students will be matched to a suitable business based on the requirements of the challenge. Over the summer of this year, each business will host the students for two weeks whilst they work on the business challenge.
All students will present back their ideas at a showcase event held at Nottingham Trent University once the placements have finished. Not only does this provide the opportunity to hear our students’ fresh insights, but the showcase event is also a fantastic chance to promote your business and to network with, and access, NTU’s wider talent pool.
Placements will take place in June 2017.
