Anne Curry, Senior Lecturer for BA (Hons) Costume Design and Making, was one of 180 designers worldwide selected to feature at the World Stage Design Exhibition 2017 (WSD2017) in Taiwan.

The exhibition first launched in Canada in 2005 and is now held every four years, celebrating the very best in global performance design from individual designers.

It continues to provide an exciting programme of innovative theatre design, performances, workshops, seminars, and inspiring exhibitions.

Anne’s internationally recognised costume design collection Frankenstein was performed in a small studio space with audience closing on three sides.

“The performance style was dark and dramatic; minimal set maximum emphasis on the costume, incorporating a short emotive dance section, which provided my first opportunity to design for dance,” Anne told us.

In addition to lecturing in costume design at Nottingham Trent University, Anne continues to work as a freelance designer, exhibiting nationally and around the globe.
