Apprenticeships at Nottingham Trent University
Since 2015, Nottingham Trent University have been successfully delivering higher and degree apprenticeships in a number of different sectors and industries.
Higher and degree apprenticeships offer a number of benefits, not only to businesses looking to expand or upskill their workforce, but also to individuals who may already be in work, or those at the start of their career.
Recently, the Department for Education (DfE) visited NTU to discuss Apprenticeships in relation to Higher Education Institutions. During this visit, we also caught up with four first year apprentices currently studying at NTU, to see how undertaking an apprenticeship is positively impacting their career. As well as this, they let us know what they've been enjoying most whilst studying at NTU, as well as key advice they'd give others considering this alternative route to Higher Education.
Deputy Vice Chancellor, Professor Eunice Simmons says, "It is an employer-apprentice-university relationship, and that good connection means the employer gets staff with skills that their industry desperately needs, whilst the apprentice can learn without having to take out a student loan."
